Ratcliff & McKoon Lab
Lab Experiments
What are the experiments?
Our experiments typically investigate cognitive phenomena such as reaction time, memory, and language and reading. You may demo a sample reaction time experiment from our online experiments page. Most if not all experiments are computer-based and last about an hour. Monetary rewards are often given for participation and are arranged prior to the experiment.Who can participate in the experiments?
This matter depends on the experiment. In the past, participation has been open to college-age students and the 65-85 year old age group. For language and reading experiments, participants usually must be native English speakers. There may be other requirements as well. If you are interested in finding out more we encourage you to contact one of our lab assistants at ugradATeccles.psy.ohio-state.edu (replace "AT" with @).How can you participate?
We offer several ways you can participate. You may visit our lab where you can participate in one of our computer-based experiments. Please contact our lab assistants for further details. They can be reached at ugradATeccles.ohio-state.edu (replace "AT" with @).
We also offer online experiments; just click on the online experiments link. Instructions are provided. See where you rank relative to other participants from different age groups on our "wall of fame."
